Dressmaking Techniques

So you’ve learned some sewing basics but would really love to get to grips with some dressmaking techniques that you can apply to lots of different projects and really take your dressmaking to the next level. Ever wondered what a French seam is? how to insert an invisible zip? or how to get a great finish on a neckline? Then this comprehensive course is just for you!

I will show you lots of different techniques to really make your dressmaking stand out. During the course we will cover…

• Seams and seam finishes
• Hems and hem finishes
• Darts and princess seams
• Gathers and using elastic
• Pleats and tucks
• Zips zips zips!
• Buttons and buttonholes
• Great neckline finishes
• Decorative stitching
• and much more!

You will create a series of samples to keep for future reference, to help you with your future projects. You will need to be able to use a sewing machine, if you have never used a sewing machine before then please do sign up for the Absolute Beginners Class

This course is over 6 sessions and will take place on a Sunday afternoon, once a month.

All equipment and materials are provided, including all the tea/coffee you can drink, there might even be a cheeky biscuit too!
